3D Print Filament: Introduction
3D print filament is the primary consumable material for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printers, the most widely used 3D printing technology. It is supplied as a continuous, flexible plastic wire, typically wound on a spool, and fed into the hot end of a 3D printer.
Working Principle
The filament is heated to its melting point inside the printer’s nozzle, then extruded layer by layer onto the build platform. As it cools and solidifies, it forms a precise three‑dimensional object according to the digital model.
